An elephant never forgets...

Image
One of my fave memories of my sister when we were younger In a video of her snotty little face coming stupidly close to the camera trying to talk to my dad through the lens asking for him to put on dumbo, similar to this there is another tape of her receiving 'Dumbo' as a present and getting so excited she hugged her video to her chest... For this reason I am very excited to see her reaction when she actually comes face to face with an elephant in april. Will she hug the elephant in the same way as her DVD? Will her face go all 'special' like in the video?? I will keep you posted. I wanted to have a quick tester before our trip in April so today after work I joined the others for elephant trekking. It was amazing!! Elephants are such beautiful, kind looking creatures. They are huge without being clumsy and so gentle!! We went for a treck around the jungle, mine was called honey and our tour guide named himself 'mr man'. We walked over rivers with ease an...

Phi Phi had my heart at hello!!

This weekend we sailed over to the world of phi phi island. For those who haven't been it's the most exciting, atmospheric, beautiful place to get pissed and be hungover, for those who have, you know what I'm talking about!! In the day there are people dying of hangovers on the beach, still drinking in the bars from the night before or spending all their baht in the little stalls. At night there are fire shows, people dancing on the beach and drinking buckets for a teeny 200 baht (£4). We arrived after work on Friday and instantly found a room. The ferry over was so nice, just relaxing on deck enjoying being cool from the sea air. We got ready and headed out for food, cute little place on the beach which had quirky lights everywhere and loads of cocktails on the menu. After we headed to find some buckets and just sat around drinking till it was time to dance! People were in the sea, on the bar, on podiums all dancing their heart out... No one gives a shit in phi ph...

As you are probably aware I spent my 26th birthday in thailand, was a little sad to wake up and know I wouldn't see my favourite faces but as the day went on I felt happier and happier. My Thai family were celebrating Chinese new year as papa is originally from china, so I decided to not tell them and let them carry on with their celebrations. Turned up at school and some of the children had brought in presents from homeI had flowers, hearts and sweet s. My supervisor, Pija, had arranged a cake and lots of little cakes which all the kids gathered around to sing happy birthday. Pija and one of the other workers then gave me their presents which were 2 bracelets and a rose broach which was red. (Gifts in red are given out throughout Chinese new year to family and friends for happiness and luck) We then played with balloons, ate cake, danced and generally pratted around till the kids nap time at 1. When I left work we all decided to go to the beach, being a January baby thi...
