Full Moon Magic
Everything in my trip has been random, unplanned and spontaneous. There have only been a couple moments of certainty, those being flight details, placement and the date of my sisters arrival.
One other event that was always going to happen was the full moon party! I couldn't come to Thailand for 4 months and not experience the biggest party in Thailand.
Dons wanted to go to so we decided on the April full moon and planned our holiday around it.
I was a little nervous as I wasn't sure what music was gonna be played and I didn't know how me and don would deal with the crowds, turns out I had nothing to worry about!
Full Moon party was possibly one of the most atmospheric, exciting buzzing parties that I have ever been to. It's like a dj version of a festival minus mud, cold weather and miles of walking.
We started off in Outback Bar where we met up with Trine, Anne-Louise and a group of people from our friends guest house. Had a few drinks before going to a bar to body paint and drink cheap drinks.
We expertly flicked paint, made dots and flowers before being shown up by an Australian tattooist/artist who drew some less 'casual' pics on us.
We didn't venture into the beach just watched and danced from the safety of the Cactus bar.
The music was everything from raving drum and bass to mixed pop and r&b.
Katrina also joined us for a bit but couldn't stay as she had an eye infection poor wench. She left some of her friends to party with us who were so much fun!
The mixture of music, erratic dancing, neon painted bodies, buckets and excitable people made the best night ever! No fights, no injuries, no passing out... Starting to sound boring?? Defo wasn't.
I think I can safely say I will never experience anything as crazy as the full moon party and I am proud to say that me and my little sister made it till the sunrise before eating our body weight in chicken and nearly stealing smudge (the Outback bars dog).
This morning wasn't so fun but the sight of Donna passed out in her usual glam hung over way with the addition of neon paint and her memorial to Dom will never leave my mind.
As usual Thailand you were fricken awesome!
